Iulia Filipovscaia

Siberian artist, Iulia Filipovscaia, gained a BA in Fine Art in 2007 at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and MA in Image and Communication (Photography) at Goldsmiths University of London in 2009.

Throughout her work, she looks at photographic prints as a means to bring closer the relationship between painting and photography. Both chance and mistake are important ingredients that allow the work to exist. She questions the real and the unreal and investigates the status of things by allowing the abstract and minimal speak for itself.

The Eject (Winter Series) depict existing landscapes, however, their unreal rather unrealized quality relates to a decision of denial of a beautiful experience.
