  • CountryUnited Kingdom

Dr Faiza Shaheen has a longstanding interest in economic inequality, and particularly in spatial patterns of inequality. Her PhD studies explored neighbourhood dynamics and changing concentrations of deprivation since the 1970s. Faiza is conducting research to further understand the drivers of economic inequality and think about the policy changes needed to support a reversal of current levels of inequality in the UK.

Faiza has written papers on regeneration policy, youth unemployment, worklessness and child poverty.

As well as a PhD, Faiza has an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics from the University of Manchester and a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from St John’s College, Oxford University.
