Nada Prlja

Nada Prlja was born in Sarajevo and moved to Skopje at the age of 11 and to London in 1999 where she lives and works now. She graduated from the National School of Fine Art (A Levels) and from the Academy of Fine Art, Skopje, Macedonia and consequently received an MPhil (Master of Philosophy) research degree from the Royal College of Art, London, UK.

Nada is an artist whose work deals with the complex situations of inequality and injustice in societies, ranging from political, social to economic issues. Using different media, her projects are always condition-specific with an intention of resolving the problems that she deals with. She is interested in art that offers possible resolution or alternative to the present political and social realities.

Her work has been reviewed in Third text and Art Forum. Her work has been exhibited at Tate, Iniva and other prominent institutions and universities, such as Goldsmith University and UCL.

Nada Prlja is not represented by a gallery as the representation is contrary to her artistic agenda.
