Anne Tallentire was born in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, and has lived and worked in London since 1984. She studied Printmaking at the School of Visual Arts in New York, and from 1986 until 1988 Fine Art Media at the Slade School of Art in London. She widely exhibited in England, Ireland and the United States and is a lecturer and teacher at Central St Martins, Goldsmiths and other colleges in London.
She works in the media of video, film, sound, photography, installation and performance. She was the sole representative for Ireland at the Venice Biennale in 1999. Since 1993, she has worked collaboratively with John Seth whilst continuing independent projects. In May 1997, their practice was formed under the name work-seth/tallentire.
