Kulwinder Bajar is an international artist who has lived between North India, the UK and Canada, and currently lives and works in London. Her work is based in installation art, video and performance, audio interventions, and includes socially engaged practices.

Bajar’s practice engages with issues of representation and power in society. She examines race and gender representation in mass media and the exploitation of race and desire in pop music. As well, her work looks at history and memory, nomadic self and the expanding global society.

Recent exhibitions include: Golden Brown (2008) at HQ gallery, New York; The Weasel: Pop Music and Contemporary Art (2007) at South London Gallery; and Republic L’est Gallery, London.
