This summer Iniva brings a deliciously fun mixture of ice cream, art and music to East London with Candy Pop and Juicy Lucy on Tour a new participatory art workshops and exhibition. toured in an ice ream van.
The project, run by artist Chila Burman, culminates in a Summer Ice Cream Party open to all on 18th August 2007, when the ice-cream van will be driven to Iniva and Autograph ABP’s soon-to-be-opened arts venue, Rivington Place. Inside the van a soundtrack mix of rap, reggae, bhangra and Punjabi folk music, will create a sensuous and fun environment in which to experience Burman’s mixed-media artwork whilst participating in family workshops and enjoying free ice-cream, served from the hatch throughout the day.
Candy Pop and Juicy Lucy on Tour will include three weeks of workshops for young Hackney residents held in a specially designed tent erected alongside Burman’s ice-cream van from 23 July – 10 August 2007. Their works will be exhibited at the Summer Ice Cream party.
Supported by Arts Council England and National Lottery, Awards for All.
