The text to be discussed is Transcultural encounters in contemporary art: gender, genre and history by Siobhan Shilton, in Comparing postcolonial diasporas, edited by Keown, Murphy and Procter.
The Stuart Hall Library Reading Group is open to everyone, whether you are in formal education, academia, artistic practice, or have a general interest.
The texts will stimulate a series of discussions and debates elaborating on issues such as multiculturalism, identity politics, art, literature and philosophy, but with an interdisciplinary focus.
