Throughout October our NEW series of ‘A to Z of Emotion’ workshops is facilitated by Lyn French*, art therapist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist and explores common feelings from A to D. Themes highlighted include: difference, diversity, gender and identity as well as using a psychoanalytically informed approach.

2 October Exploring ANGER & its links to fear + humiliation and its opposite strengthening capacities to self-soothe and to remain calm
9 October Exploring BETRAYAL & its links to loss + rejection and its opposite – re-building the capacity to trust and to cope with loss
16 October Exploring CONFUSION & its links to anxiety + a fractured inner world and its opposite -clarity & wholeness
23 October Exploring DEPRESSION & its links to anger + low self esteem and its opposite contentment, emotional resilience and empathy.
Participants will be given handouts including suggestions for practical activities and discussion points to take away linked to our Emotional Learning Cards and a discount on the sets at Rivington Place, including our upcoming set The A-Z of Emotions.

*Lyn French, A Space Director and art therapist and psychoanalytic psychotherapist (HPCP, UKCP, BACP), has over 15 year’s experience in delivering and supervising school-based therapy provision with previous experience in NHS psychiatric services. She has co-edited two books: Therapeutic Practice in Schools, Vol 1: Working with the Child Within (Routledge, 2012) and Therapeutic Practice in Schools, Vol 2: The Contemporary Adolescent (Routledge; September 2014) and is on the staff team of the MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy with Children and Adolescents at Birkbeck College, University of London.
