Step into the rhythm of Jamaican Dancehall in this joyful, all-levels dance workshop led by Shelaine Prince, with music by DJ Bad Anju. Whether you’ve never danced a step or you live for the riddim, this is a space to move, let loose and have fun.
Shelaine will guide you through the foundations of Dancehall culture and movement. We will begin with a gentle warm-up before introducing classic grooves and moves through relaxed, exciting and guided choreography. There’s plenty of room to freestyle and find your own flow too, with the whole session built around confidence, joy and self-expression.
No experience needed and no pressure to get it “right”. Just bring yourself and a willingness to move. Complete beginners are warmly encouraged, and you’ll be supported every step of the way in a friendly, judgement-free environment.
About the Facilitators
Shelaine Prince
Shelaine Prince is a London-based Dancehall instructor, creative director and co-founder of Ignition Dance Company. With years of experience teaching and performing internationally, her work focuses on female empowerment, confidence-building and celebrating Dancehall culture through movement, storytelling and community. Her classes create a welcoming environment where participants are encouraged to connect with their bodies, energy and self-expression unapologetically.
