Roee Rosen discusses his work past and present with curator Hila Peleg.
Roee Rosen lives and works in Israel. He received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts and his MFA from Hunter College, both in New York. He currently heads the post graduate visual arts program at HaMidrasha College of Art, and teaches at the Bezalel Art Academy, Jerusalem.
Hila Peleg is a curator and filmmaker based in Berlin. She is the founder and artistic director of the bi-annual festival Berlin Documentary Forum at Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin. Peleg has organised and co-curated various international projects dealing with artistic practices and culture from the Middle East.
Vile, Evil Veil – The first Uk solo show for artist, writer and filmmaker, Roee Rosen shows at Rivington Place until 5 May 2012. In this exhibition Rosen creates two works which explore the dynamic of power and pleasure, and negotiate fictional personas and cultural politics.
