Architecture, Globalisation and Diversity

In joint celebration of inIVA’s 10th and the RSA’s 250th anniversary year, a panel of speakers discuss the shape and role of architecture in relation to issues of diversity, access and politics. As part of Architecture Week 2004, the annual national public celebration of contemporary architecture, the discussion centres on the politics of place and the different ways space can be translated. How do questions of race and cultural identity impact upon architectural design and practice? As inIVA looks forward to its own permanent home, such issues inform the development of its own building project designed by Adjaye/Associates.
