The discussion focuses on John Berger and Jean Mohr’s ‘The Seventh Man’, first published in 1975.
This was a ground-breaking study of the ‘Gastarbeiter’ (guest worker) phenomenon in Europe.
Chaired by Kevin Robins (academic), participants Latife Tekin (novelist), Emine Sevgi Ozdamar (novelist), Moris Farhi (author) and Gary Younge (journalist), discuss Turkish migration in Europe and explore how the issues about migrants in Europe have developed over thirty years.
This event is part of John Berger: Here Is Where We Meet, a season of events in London from 5 April to 18 May.
