Iniva invites schools to take part in free tours and workshops related to the Kingdom of the Blind exhibition at Rivington Place.
The exhibition explores themes of today’s social and political global climate by making a powerful commentary on our national cultural institutions and their relationship to the modern constructs of contemporary dictatorships and war, history and society, cultural identity and national pride.
Tours involve an exciting, conversational tour of the exhibition followed by an art making workshop examining key themes of the exhibition. Participants create a group response using found objects and pound shop ephemera to make objects. This response and its evaluation will establish the theme for the following workshop and instigate a chain of belief and ideas.
Tour and workshop sessions are suitable for all ages ideally consisting of 10 to 20 participants. Two slots are available on each of the dates at 10.00 or 12.30, each session lasts approximately 2 hours. Tours of the exhibition without workshops can also be arranged on alternative dates.
Schools receive documentation of the workshop and artwork.
