A Collection of Practice is a free evening event in the Stuart Hall Library at Rivington Place, exploring the notion of the bibliography of gallery and visual arts education. Participants will have the chance to discuss their ideas and share their experiences through Iniva’s Spoken Skins blog.
Three guest speakers will address the following questions:
- Are there key books and resources that have informed or developed the practice of gallery education and visual arts learning?
- How are books chosen for reading lists for academic courses?
- How relevant are the texts to practice in gallery learning?
Participants are asked to consider what has informed their practice or work and discuss their suggestions. It could be a text, person, artwork, website, film, object… or a book!
The event will be of interest to artists, educators, students, and Library and Information professionals specialising in the visual arts.
