The recent financial crisis, public spending cuts, the 2011 Budget – economics affect us all but who benefits and what are the impacts locally?
Rivington Place is located in Shoreditch – a centre for the creative industries, next door to the Square Mile, and yet one of the most deprived boroughs in the UK.
Join a short guided tour of the area followed by workshops led by artist Shiraz Bayjoo as you take on the role of social historian to produce a series of short films and photographs documenting the stories of people working and living in the area. Get to explore and meet the people of this lively and exciting part of East London.
Films will be displayed in an exhibition from 19-23 July and online – prizes to be won include a fantastic flip camera.
There are two sittings for this event: 1-3:30pm and 3:30-6pm. Some equipment for these workshops will be provided but if you are more comfortable using your own digital cameras and digital video cameras, please feel free to bring them along.
Part of Create 11 and supported by Adobe Youth Voices.
