A performance by Goshka Macuga in collaboration with Ansuman Biswas as part of the exhibition Tagore’s Universal Allegories.
Working with the interdisciplinary artist and musician Ansuman Biswas, Goshka Macuga has conceived an event based on the famous conversation ‘On the nature of reality‘ that took place between Tagore and Einstein at Einstein’s house near Berlin in 1930, a transcript of which is on display in the exhibition.
The conversation will be interpreted by musicians listening to the transcript via earpieces in the gallery space amongst Anna Boghiguian’s artwork for installation A Play to Play. They will interject, accompany, echo, ignore or respond to what they hear using the Germanic and Bengali sound worlds Tagore and Einstein knew and loved.
