Artist John Dugger and art historian Guy Brett have worked together since 1967. Dugger created participatory art events in London, working and exhibiting with artists such as David Medalla and in connection with Lydia Clark. With Medalla he participated and designed a pavilion for Documenta 5 which was curated by Harold Szeeman and was also a founding member of Artists for Democracy.
For his project Banner Arts he produced large scale banners for public occasions including protests in Trafalgar Square against the Pinochet regime in Chile and the apartheid system in South Africa.
Guy Brett and John Dugger will discuss this fascinating history in a conversation which will take place in the context of Keywords and with Iniva curator Grant Watson.
